Why Palestine
during a local election?

first it was
a taboo
then it was
a controversy
now it’s
a recognized

genocide

Hundreds of Human Rights experts, the International Association of Genocide Scholars, the International Court of Justice, the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention, the International Criminal Court, The United Nations, Amnesty International, B’Tselem, Médcins Sans Frontière, Human Rights Watch and dozens of other organizations have recognized the Gaza genocide as a fact.*

Take a moment and reflect on the way that outrage develops, grows and expands into political action. You heard a war zone nurse talk about Gaza as a “death zone.” You know someone who has relatives there. You read and you listen and you fill in the unspoken spaces. You see the images of child victims and orphans. You know people who march in the streets. You understand the history of the worst holocaust (in Hebrew, the “shoah” or “catastrophe”) and you watch another still unfolding Nakba — "Catastrophe".

That’s the outrage you feel. And it’s past time to tell everyone who has a public platform at every level of government. We’re starting in Nanaimo.
